 THE BRAVE KAURS In different religions, generally women are said to use the surname of her husband's family; but the Sikh women are recognised by a single surname i.e., KAUR meaning 'PRINCESS'.  Since the Sikh community is recognised as the BRAVEST COMMUNITY in the whole world. In the Sikh community, whether its a woman or a man, they are firstly respected as a Human.  MATA GUJRI JI Mata Gujri Ji was the wife of the ninth Guru, SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI, the mother of GURU GOBIND SINGH JI and the grandmother of four SAHIBZAADE.  Imprisoned in the Thanda Burj of Sirhind with her youngest grandsons Zorawar and Fateh Singh, she attained martyrdom, at the age of 81 years, when she was told of their execution. At the age of 51, her husband attained martyrdom, she was made to guide the whole Panth and protect the young Gobind Rai .  THE INITIATION OF KHALSA PANTH "THOSE WHO WORSHIP AND ADORE LORD THROUGH GURU'S WORD, FORGETS ALL THEIR PAIN AND SUFFERING" -GURU GOBIND SINGH JI The word KHALSA meaning 'pure' is the name given by the tenth guru of the Sikh Religion, Guru Gobind Singh Ji to all the Sikhs who have been baptised by taking Amrit in a ceremony called AMRIT SANCHAR. The first ceremony of Amrit Sanchar was initiated on 30th March, 1699 at Anandpur Sahib, Punjab. Over 2% of the Indian population belong to the Sikh Religion. Over 25 million of the Sikh people reside all over the world. This religion is practiced in Asia and America. They are identified by the Turban, the pride of the Sikh Religion. This religion preaches us to love, maintain peace and equality in the eyes of God. They follow the teachings of the ten gurus and their holy book 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji' which is designated as the 11th Guru of the Sikh Religion.
